Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tremia ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the IntervalGuide mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

1. Health & Heart Rate Data

Specifically, IntervalGuide collects and stores the following health data locally:

  • Heart rate (BPM) samples during workouts
  • Workout session records (type, duration, start/end time)
  • Heart rate zone statistics (average, max, min BPM per session)

IntervalGuide can read heart rate data from Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) heart rate monitors and Wear OS devices. This data is used exclusively for workout features such as live BPM display, heart rate zone tracking, and completed session summaries.

If you enable Health Connect integration, IntervalGuide writes workout summaries (exercise type, duration, start/end time) and heart rate samples to Android Health Connect on your device. This data remains on-device and is not transmitted to Tremia or any external server. Health Connect allows other health apps on your device to access this shared data, subject to your explicit permission. You can revoke IntervalGuide's Health Connect access at any time in your device's Health Connect settings.

The IntervalGuide Wear OS companion app reads your heart rate directly from your watch's built-in sensor. Heart rate data is transmitted from the watch to your phone via the Wearable Data Layer, a direct encrypted device-to-device connection, and is never sent to any external server. Workout programs and completed session summaries are synced between phone and watch using the same secure local channel.

IntervalGuide uses a foreground service to keep your workout timer running while the screen is off or the app is in the background. This service is active only during an active workout session and displays a persistent notification. No data is collected or transmitted during this background operation.

All health and workout data is stored locally on your device or, if you choose to use Health Connect, within Android Health Connect on your device. IntervalGuide does not transmit this data to Tremia or any third-party server.

2. Bluetooth & BLE Connections

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to compatible heart rate monitors. The connection is established solely for the purpose of receiving heart rate data. No data from these devices is sent to any external server. The Bluetooth permission is used only for device discovery and data reading during active workouts.

3. No Cloud Storage

All workout data, timer configurations, heart rate recordings, and personal settings remain on your device. IntervalGuide does not upload any of this data to external servers. Your data is yours.

4. No Account Required

IntervalGuide does not require user registration or login. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.

5. Advertising

The free version of IntervalGuide displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information for the purpose of serving and personalizing ads, including:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID)
  • IP address
  • General usage data and interaction with ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads on most Android devices). For more information on how Google processes data, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions

IntervalGuide offers an optional premium subscription to remove ads and unlock additional features. Subscriptions are processed and managed entirely through Google Play. Payment information is handled by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google Play's Terms of Service. Tremia does not receive or store your payment information.

7. Children's Privacy

IntervalGuide is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all app data by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App. No data is retained by Tremia after deletion or uninstallation.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements (free version only)
  • Google Play Billing — for processing subscription purchases

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing data collection and use.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
